What kind of boiler or cylinder are you looking for?

Combination Boiler

Combination boilers deliver both heating and hot water from a single compact unit. Primarily they are for use in smaller properties or where the hot water demand is not very high. The hot water is delivered through a heat exchanger within the boiler giving a powerful shower performance without the need of a pump. Although running baths can be an issue especially in winter time when the boiler is having to heat up cooler water.

System Boiler

System boilers still require a hot water cylinder, however they incorporate some major components within the boiler. This saves space when considering location or layout. Hot water is pumped from the system boiler through the heating system to the household radiators and hot water cylinder, resulting in much more efficient running costs and a much faster supply of hot water.

Conventional Boiler

Conventional boilers are heat only boilers that works alongside a hot water cylinder (either open vented or pressurised) to supply heat to your radiators and through a coil to provide hot water.  If they are linked to a open vented hot water cylinder then they will require a cold water storage tank in the loft. They are typically common on old heating systems whereby it may be of high risk pressurizing the heating system or in areas where the cold water pressure is inadequate.

Hot water cylinders (or Pressurised Cylinders) are getting increasingly popular across the UK and can now be found in most homes. These cylinders store a large amount of hot water for instant demand in your day-to-day domestic uses. Unvented cylinders are connected directly to the mains water system which means they offer high water flow rates to provide higher water pressure for showers and baths.
